In the segment of holiday flights offered by travel agencies, 52,695 travelers were serviced, i.e. by 28,108 more (+114.3%).) than last year. In March this year. The most popular holiday routes were: Hurghada (10 738 passengers), Marsa Alam (9 364), Antalya (3 836), Punta Cana (2 434), Cancun (2 073).
During the third month of 2022, there were 2 731 aircraft takeoffs and landings – this is a result of 1 649 better (+152.4%).) than that achieved in March 2021.

March saw traffic recovery at almost 75% of pre-pandemic levels. In April, we expect this trend to continue, especially as we approach the long weekend in May, and this begins the peak of the charter season.”
From January to the end of March 2022 Katowice Airport handled a total of 466,586 passengers, 397,713 more (+577.5%).) than in the first quarter of last year. In the segment of charter flights 147 395 travelers were serviced – 100 669 more (+215,5 %).) than last year. Passengers were most likely to travel on the following holiday routes: Hurghada (30,391 people), Marsa Alam (28,662), Antalya (11,726), Punta Cana (8,302) and Puerto Plata (6,173).
From January to the end of March 2022, there were 6,610 aircraft takeoffs and landings, 3,917 more (+145.5%) than during the first three months of 2021.) than in 2021.
Artur Tomasik emphasized: “The good start of the year in passenger transport has strengthened the financial situation of GTL SA. It is important, because we plan further investments. Firstly, the construction of a new part of the road system at Katowice Airport, a project closely linked to the construction of a viaduct on the railroad line no 182 Tarnowskie Góry – Zawiercie over voivodship road no 913. In this task, in addition to our company, is involved also Management of Regional Roads and PKP PLK. The second investment was the construction of a second cargo terminal. This year we want to have the construction project, and next year we want to start building the structure.”
