Saudi Tourism Authority strongly focuses on tourism development and trains entrepreneurs from all over the world
Saudi Arabia for several years has been taking measures aimed at strong development of tourism. One of their promotional activities is the virtual workshop “Journeys Through Saudi” organized by the Saudi Tourism Authority.
“Journeys through Saudi Arabia” is a series of carefully designed virtual events for the tourism industry. Especially for those who want to know, understand, and be inspired by Arabian tourism products. In addition to the presentations, specialized individual meetings have also been scheduled.
Online meetings have already taken place in India, Western Europe and the Middle East. The workshop was recently held for the tourism industry from Central and Eastern Europe. The first day featured presentations on tourism potential of Saudi Arabia. Above all, it was pointed out that this is actually a direction for every tourist. Everyone who likes active recreation and amateurs of history and art will find there. Practical information about the country is also given, from the weather to the dress code. The presentations were followed by meetings with Saudi hoteliers.
On the second day, the Saudi Tourism Authority team talked about travel in Arabia. The Vision 2030 project has also been presented. This project primarily aims to strengthen the private sector to create a vibrant society and build a thriving economy by diversifying and investing in ways to prepare Saudi Arabia for global trade. Tourism is to be the key to realizing many of these visions. Participants had the opportunity to learn about this still not very popular destination in terms of tourism, their culture and hospitality. Offers were presented and it was explained how STA can help tour operators create comprehensive travel deals to Saudi Arabia. Individual industry meetings continued.
Roadshows take place in 12 key source markets around the world and allow passengers to learn about the opportunities that a particular destination has to offer. Their task is to create demand for Saudi Arabia and its products and as a result to increase the number of visits throughout the country.
Saudi Arabia is beginning a long journey to build its position as the world’s leading tourist destination. The manner in which the international travel industry is involved may prove to be a helpful and key factor in raising awareness of the destination itself and STA’s long-term plan and strategy.
